Facts About Turkey

  Turkey is a bridge between Asia and Europe as a modern, secular republic.

   Turkey was founded in 29th october 1923 by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk as a new republic. Mustafa Kemal was his name but after the surname law, he was given “Atatürk” as a surname which means father of Turks.

  All people in the country is really involved with fashion especially the young generation. Speaking of new generation; one of the youngest population of Europe is Turkish population. The student population of the country from first class to the end of university is around 20 million. That is more than many country’s total population. Because of this, one of the main income is production. So, international componies are moving their factories to Turkey such as Fiat, Renault, Mercedes Buses, Toyota, Hyundai and etc. Agriculture and livestock is the other main income in Turkey. Because climates are really suitable for growing several kind of fruits and vegetables. For instance, approximately %70 of tea and hazelnut production of the world is produced in Turkey. Beside, banana, orange, mandarin, lemon, apple, grapes, spinach, olives, ananas, cotton, wheat, barley, rice, eggplant, tomato, patato, pepper, sugar beet and etc. are also produced with a large amounts in Turkey.

   Turkey is a mosaic of religions because many civilizations are lived in these lands for hundreds of years.

    These lands  saw paganism with the tribes have come from Middle Asia during the Tribes Immigration. After the Byzantine conqured Istanbul, Christianity reigned. And lastly, in 1516, after the Ottomon Empire took the caliphate, Islamism spreads all around Empire.

And nowadays still % 95 – 96 percent of people are muslims in Turkey. But there are still considerable extent of non-muslims are living in the country, and they are praying in their own worships; such as churches, sinagogs, and etc. You can see mosques, sinagogs, churches next to eachother in several places in Turkey. That is because, people from diffirent religions are living together.

Because these lands were always the center of tolarance  and it still continues to be.
